The Lviv region has begun preparations for Jewish Cultural Heritage Week 2026 to be held in October. Communities across the region are invited to contribute to drafting the programme.
The initiative is being implemented in collaboration with the Regional Development Agency of Lviv Region, the Honorary Consulate of the State of Israel in the Western Region of Ukraine, and Heritage.UA. The Week draws on international experience and the expertise gained from the Jewels Tour project under Interreg Europe.
This year’s theme of Week is closely intertwined with intercultural stories and prominent figures who have had a global impact and shaped Halychyna. The event will bring together experts, researchers, community leaders, and anyone interested to uncover little-known chapters in the history of the Lviv region and explore the potential of the Jewish cultural heritage for the contemporary cultural and tourism landscape.
Events that can be suggested by communities across the Lviv region will be an important part of the Week. These may include lectures, guided tours, themed walking routes, meetings with local historians, exhibitions, artistic initiatives, presentations of local stories, and visits to historical sites.
Communities with sites, stories, or initiatives that can be showcased as part of the Week are welcome to contribute to drafting the programme. Applications will be accepted until the end of August via the link.

The Jewels Tour project is being implemented as part of the Interreg Europe and aims to promote Jewish heritage as an integral part of Europe’s multicultural landscape, with a view to developing sustainable tourism. In Lviv region, Regional Development Agency of Lviv Region is working on this initiative in collaboration with the Department of Sport, Youth, and Tourism of the Lviv Regional State Administration.
