Cross-sectoral Cooperation: Collaboration between Business, the Public Sector, and other Stakeholders: the seventh seminar has taken place as part of the UCORD project

Practical tools for cross-sectoral cooperation, resource mobilisation, and the preservation of cultural heritage were discussed at the Regional Development Agency of Lviv Region.
How can local communities draw on expertise and funding and build effective partnerships to develop their territories? This was the topic addressed at the seventh practical online seminar organised by the Regional Development Agency of Lviv Region as part of the Resilience of the Institutional Capacity of International Territorial Cooperation Entities and Participants in Lviv Region project.
Speaker Hanna Havryliv, founder of the Charity Foundation heritage.ua, presented practical tools for bringing together public authorities, businesses, academic institutions, donors, and active residents around shared goals.
Participants examined successful examples of synergy between different sectors in the Lviv region, in particular, the preservation of the castle and park in Pomoryany, where interactive museum has been opened, eco-clean-ups have been organised, footpaths have been laid out under a co-funding programme, and the creative industries have been involved in promoting the site, all thanks to the collaboration between the local community, the authorities, academics, and philanthropists.
The Hatky (Cottages) project was also discussed. 26 historic estates near the Pomoryany and Svirzh castles have been restored, attracting new residents and stimulating the development of local infrastructure.
The Rozdil Palace project was another notable example, bringing together the private investor EFI Group, the Charity Foundation heritage.ua, six neighbouring communities, and the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation to develop tourist routes and promote cultural heritage.
The expert emphasised that decentralisation and training programmes run by international partners are helping communities to change their approach from competition to partnership and mutual support.
The seminar was attended by representatives of state authorities, local governments, the civil society sector, and regional experts.
The project is being implemented by the Regional Development Agency of Lviv Region as part of the Swiss-Ukrainian project Ukraine’s Cohesion and Regional Development (UCORD), which is being carried out by NIRAS Sweden AB with the support of Switzerland.
