Meeting with the delegation of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine

A meeting with the delegation of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine was held at the Lviv Regional Military Administration.

The meeting discussed further steps to strengthen decentralisation and develop the institutional capacity of communities. Representatives of the NAS of Ukraine shared the outcomes of their research on assessing the capacity of communities, modelling the administrative and territorial structure, and developing methodological recommendations — from the division of powers to potential areas for improving legislation. This will lay the foundation for more effective learning and support for communities in the regions of Ukraine.

In the meeting took part Head of the Lviv Regional State Administration Maksym Kozytskyi, Academician of the NAS of Ukraine Valeriy Heyets, Corresponding Member of the NAS of Ukraine Volodymyr Ustymenko, Academician of the NAS of Ukraine Zinoviy Nazarchuk, Doctor of Economics Taras Vasyltsiv, Corresponding Member of the NAS of Ukraine Volodymyr Zahorskyi, Deputy Director for General Affairs at the SI “Institute of Regional Research Named after M.I. Dolishniy of the NAS of Ukraine”, PhD in Economics Volodymyr Voloshyn, and Acting Director of the Regional Development Agency of Lviv Region, Doctor of Economics Iryna Tymechko.

We believe that such synergy between the scientific community and regional development institutions will contribute to building resilient, efficient, and competitive communities.
