Visit of representatives of the WHO and the National Expert Group on Infection Control to LNMU

Representatives of Technical Assistance of the World Health Organisation in Ukraine and the implementation partner National Expert Group on Infection Control visited Danylo Halytskyi Lviv National Medical University under the Biennial Collaboration Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Regional Office for Europe of the World Health Organisation for 2024–2025.

The visit aimed to support efforts to reduce the incidence of healthcare-associated infections by developing and strengthening infection prevention and control programmes using the IPCAF tool.

During the visit, the WHO representatives toured the LNMU Hospital, the Lviv Regional Clinical Hospital, the Research Institute of Epidemiology and Hygiene, and the Department of Microbiology.

International experts familiarised themselves with how the above-mentioned institutions and structural units organise their work in terms of ensuring bacteriological and infection control both when providing medical care and collecting biological materials for research, as well as with the work of department and laboratory staff.
