On 25 November, a webinar entitled Biogas Plants — the Driving Force Behind Energy Development: How Agricultural Companies Can Generate Energy from Waste was organised by the Regional Development Agency of Lviv Region, the Agency of Regional Development in Ternopil region, and the AgroEnergy Parks Company.
During the webinar, participants discussed how bioenergy can become a tool for developing the agricultural sector, including helping farms to reduce their energy costs, effectively converting agricultural waste into a valuable resource, and attracting investment to communities, creating added value locally.
The participants also addressed the role of the agricultural sector in strengthening Ukraine’s energy independence, current challenges in the sector, and existing state mechanisms for supporting such initiatives.
Considerable attention was paid to how to correctly assess the economic feasibility of a bioenergy project, choose the optimal implementation format, and take environmental and technological aspects into account.
Such events are a step towards building an energy-independent and innovative agricultural sector in Ukraine.
