The third professional thematic seminar entitled Main Directions of Technological Modernisation of Water Utilities to Ensure Compliance with EU Standards for Drinking Water Quality was organised by the Regional Development Agency of Lviv Region as part of the LIFE-U-SPRINGBOARD project.
Over the course of two days, participants discussed:
— the requirements for drinking water quality in Ukraine and the European Union;
— key areas of technological modernisation of water utilities;
— modern technologies and equipment for treating surface waters affected by anthropogenic impact;
— methods of water disinfection at various stages of processing;
— practical cases of the implementation of effective water treatment systems.
The event provided the representatives of water utilities, communities, and the expert community with an opportunity to gain up-to-date knowledge and compare Ukrainian practices with European standards. It also provided a space for dialogue and the development of a shared vision for the technological development of the industry.
Let us remind you that the international LIFE-U-SPRINGBOARD project is being implemented as part of the LIFE Programme and aims to promote sustainable water supply, modernisation of water treatment systems, and building the institutional capacity of water utilities and local governments.
