On 30 January 2025, the team of the Regional Development Agency of Lviv Region, together with the Tourism and Resorts Department of the Lviv Regional State Administration and experts, gathered for the third meeting of the JEWELS TOUR stakeholders dedicated to the valorisation and promotion of Jewish cultural heritage as part of the multicultural European landscape.
During the meeting, participants discussed the progress of the project through the analysis of specific examples, explored the best policy practices and tools for heritage valorisation, and developed ideas for integrating Jewish cultural heritage into the contemporary cultural space of the region.
Other key aspects included:
— challenges in recording Jewish cultural heritage sites;
— the role of scientific research in heritage preservation;
— stakeholder initiatives to promote Jewish cultural heritage.
Moreover, during the meeting, representatives of Skeiron presented their own experience in digital preservation of cultural heritage, familiarised participants with modern technologies of 3D scanning and digitisation of architectural sites, and shared approaches to promoting monuments through the creation of interactive digital environments.
The representatives of the Lviv National Academy of Arts, the West Ukrainian Centre Hillel NGO, the Honorary Consulate of the State of Israel in Ukraine, the Hesed-Arieh All-Ukrainian Jewish Charitable Foundation, the Walkative tour initiative, the Klub Mandrivnykiv travel agency, the Stryiske Kolo NGO, the Tourist Information Centre of Boryslav, and the Sarny Historical and Ethnographic Museum attended the meeting.
