National Forum “Strategic Planning at the Regional Level: From Recovery to Development”

Iryna Tymechko, Acting Director of the Regional Development Agency of Lviv Region, participated in the National Forum “Strategic Planning at the Regional Level: From Recovery to Development”. The event brought together representatives of state authorities, regional development agencies, local governments, international partners, and experts to discuss the main challenges and prospects for regional development in Ukraine.

Forum participants focused their attention on:
- Conclusions of strategic sessions and regional particularities of macro-regions.
- New approaches to strategic planning based on territorial features.
- The importance of taking into account the features of different types of territories: border, agglomeration, old industrial, or rural areas, as well as those in a state of demographic crisis or with natural constraints on development.

The Forum programme included a series of panel discussions and small group work, where participants drafted proposals for regional development indicators and effective recovery mechanisms.

Regional Development Agency of Lviv Region actively participates in drafting strategic decisions for the development of the Lviv region. Participation in such events contributes to learning from best practices, collaborating with leading experts, and developing high-quality approaches to governing regional development.

The recovery and sustainable development of regions is a complex but necessary process that requires a comprehensive approach and coordinated efforts by the authorities, the community, and experts. The Agency continues to work towards implementing effective strategies for the future of Lviv Region!
