LIFE-U-SPRINGBOARD: first meeting of working group

On 26 June 2025, the Regional Development Agency of Lviv Region, together with its partners, held the first meeting of the working group within the framework of the LIFE-U-SPRINGBOARD project — Platform for Change in Water Supply and Wastewater Treatment in Communities.

During the meeting, participants discussed their previous experience in the areas of water supply and wastewater treatment in communities, presented the project structure, and outlined the expected results at the implementation stage, namely working tools, raising community awareness, and establishing effective cooperation between stakeholders. Participants also highlighted the key issues and challenges they face at this stage of the project implementation.

Following the meeting, a decision was made to create a platform for data exchange, and a list of issues to be considered at the next meeting of the working group was drawn up.

Representatives of the Economic Development Agency PPV, the Ukrvodokanalekology Association, the Ecoclub NGO, the National University of Water and Environmental Engineering, the Basin Department of Water Resources of Zakhidnyi Buh and Sian Rivers, the Zolochiv City Council of the Zolochiv District of Lviv Region, the Horodok Territorial Community, the City Institute and the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Lviv Regional State Administration attended the meeting.

As a reminder, the LIFE-U-SPRINGBOARD project aims to promote sustainable water supply, modernise water treatment systems, and strengthen the institutional capacity of water utilities and local authorities.
В рамках зустрічі було обговорено попередній досвід учасників у сферах водопостачання та водовідведення у громадах, представлено структуру проєкту та окреслено очікувані результати на етапі впровадження – а саме робочі інструменти, підвищення обізнаності громад та налагодження ефективної співпраці між зацікавленими сторонами. Учасники також виокремили ключові проблеми та виклики, з якими стикаються на даному етапі реалізації проєкту.

За підсумками зустрічі було ухвалено рішення про створення платформи для обміну даними, а також сформовано перелік питань для розгляду на наступному засіданні робочої групи.

Нагадаємо, що мета проєкту — сприяння забезпеченню сталого водопостачання, модернізації систем очищення води та зміцненню інституційної спроможності водоканалів і органів місцевого самоврядування.
