On 29 September 2025, the Regional Development Agency of Lviv Region held the second meeting of the working group for the LIFE-U-SPRINGBOARD project – Platform for Change in Water Supply and Wastewater Treatment in Communities.
Two speakers gave presentations during the meeting:
— Andriy Pelehatyi, Deputy Mayor for the Council’s Executive Authorities of Pustomyty Territorial Community, shared the community’s experience in implementing the project entitled Cross-Border Development of the Water Supply and Sewerage System - GoodWater Tychyn-Pustomyty, which provides for the reconstruction of the water supply network in the community and the installation of a sewage pumping station;
— Anna Korniychuk, senior analyst at the Institute for Analytics and Advocacy (IAA), presented a report entitled Who Helps Municipalities and How? Report on Institutions, Mechanisms, and Geography of Assistance and a database of international assistance for communities.
A discussion on institutionalising the project working group was also an important part of the meeting. It resulted in a suggestion to establish an expert group under the Regional Development Agency of Lviv Region, which would facilitate coordination, create a new environment for discussing issues and proposals within the framework of project activities, and increase community involvement.
Representatives of the Economic Development Agency PPV, the Ukrvodokanalekology Association, the Ecoclub NGO, the National University of Water and Environmental Engineering, the Basin Department of Water Resources of Zakhidnyi Buh and Sian Rivers, the Zolochiv City Council of the Zolochiv District of Lviv Region, the Horodok and Pustomyty Territorial Community, and the Institute of Analytics and Advocacy NGO attended the meeting.
