On 1 December, Maryana Bas, Deputy Director of the Regional Development Agency of Lviv Region, took part in a roundtable entitled Inclusiveness for Business and Community: Combining Psychosocial Support and Economic Opportunities as part of the DOVIRA project run by the Czech humanitarian organisation People in Need.
The discussion focused on how accessibility is becoming a new social norm and what practical mechanisms can help businesses integrate psychosocial support into their activities, while taking advantage of government programmes and cases of inclusive entrepreneurship that combine economic development and social responsibility.
A separate section of the roundtable was devoted to analysing the barriers that arise in communities when implementing the principles of inclusiveness, as well as discussing why investing in psychosocial support is a strategically important decision for businesses, contributing to greater resilience, efficiency, and cohesion in society.
The online resource Barrier-Free Handbook is one of the tools to support entrepreneurs, communities, and all residents on the path to accessibility. It is a comprehensive platform where anyone can find recommendations and guidelines to help create an environment that is accessible and sensitive to people’s needs.
