Oct. 18, 2025

On 18 October, Iryna Tymechko, Acting Director of the Regional Development Agency of Lviv Region, took part in the 4th International Symposium “Rebuilding a Place to Call Home: Recovery towards Net Zero” held at the Ukrainian Catholic University UCuniversity.

The event brought together experts in sustainable development, researchers, policymakers, and representatives of the public sector and international organisations to jointly seek solutions for Ukraine’s post-war recovery and green transition.

Within the Transition to Zero Emissions Locally: Institutions, Cooperation, Policy panel, Iryna Tymechko emphasised the importance of partnerships between local authorities, businesses, and the public sector in the future recovery of Ukraine and the achievement of sustainable development — including joint participation in European Union opportunities.

The symposium became a platform for knowledge sharing, dissemination of best practices, and policy-making that respond to today’s challenges and pave the way to a sustainable future.

The event was organised by the Kharkiv School of Architecture, Ecoaction, the University of Oxford’s Sustainable Urban Development programme, the UN-Habitat Urban Lab Ukraine, the EU4ClimateResilience, the CEE Bankwatch, and the School of Public Management of the Ukrainian Catholic University.
