The Regional Development Agency of Lviv Region has joined the international JEWELS TOUR project

Aug. 30, 2024

We are pleased to announce that the Agency has become part of the Interreg Europe’s JEWELS TOUR project, which aims to preserve and promote Jewish cultural heritage as an integral part of Europe’s shared cultural heritage.

The project brings together partners from six EU countries — Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Germany, and Latvia — as well as Ukraine, which is an EU candidate country. Together, we will work to improve policy instruments for the optimal use of both tangible and intangible Jewish cultural heritage.

The main objectives of the project are:

  • Accessibility and attractiveness: Development of the cultural and economic components of regions through the promotion of Jewish heritage.
  • Social cohesion: Promoting a more cohesive Europe with improved governance.
  • Enhancing knowledge and skills: Expanding policymakers’ knowledge and skills in promoting cultural heritage.
  • Digital solutions: Development and implementation of digital solutions to enhance cultural heritage.

The project runs from 1 April 2024 till 30 June 2028.

The total budget is €1,992,014.

The Agency is implementing this project with the support of the Lviv Regional State Administration. The Tourism and Resorts Department of the Lviv Regional State Administration is an associate partner of the project.

The project is coordinated by Iryna Tymechko.

We are confident that participation in this project will strengthen the ties between local communities, authorities, and cultural figures, create new opportunities for tourism development, and contribute to the cultural and economic growth of our region.
